We're looking for a Food Handler's license card-carrying full/part-time Baker with experience in yeasted pastries to join our team in Bushwick! The job will mostly be rolling, filling and baking off our signature pastry (the kolache) for service. After kolaches are baked off in the morning, dough for the next day is made, kolaches are filled and rolled and fillings are prepped during service. Experimentation encouraged! The shift is 5:30am to 1:30pm. We're looking for positive folks who have a passion for authentic food, enjoy experimenting with new dishes and techniques, have experience in NYC kitchens/bakeries/coffee shops and appreciate Willie Nelson as a person and spiritual guide. The kitchen specializes in making breakfast tacos and Texas pastries. Baker: 3-5 shifts per week Starting at 5:30am - ending at 1:30pm -Weekend availability, Saturday and Sunday - Interest in baking, proofing - Genuinely enjoy introducing new foods and experiences to the community - Be able to Lift 50+ pounds, stand and/or bend for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions. - Able to meet all safety and sanitation standards. - Experience with early mornings - Multitasks well - Proficient in food safety and handling - NYC DOH Food Handler’s License required
